Created by the Limmud Chavruta Program for Israel’s 70th anniversary, this 8-page long document contains a wide range of sources that reflect on the past, present and future of the State of Israel through a side-by-side comparison of the Declaration of Independence with other ancient and modern texts. Accompanied by thought-provoking discussion questions, these texts aim to spark meaningful and nuanced conversation about the Jewish state. Designed to be studied with a partner or in a group, this resource was created by Limmud, an ambitious and passionate volunteer-run organization dedicated to Jewish learning in all its variety.
